Communicycle

About Communicycle

Communicycle is a non-profit bicycle co-op in metro Atlanta with locations in Chamblee, GA and Clarkston, GA. Our shop is open to anyone, but we are specifically focused on serving the communities of Chamblee, Doraville, and Clarkston through bicycle repair and redistribution. We serve people by providing free bicycle maintenance services and education during Open Shop Hours, and through our special programs.

How the Shop Works

During Open Shop Hours, people come to...

  • Fix their own bicycles
  • Build bicycles from donated parts
  • Help others
  • Donate materials
  • Build relationships

No experience? No problem! Our volunteers are here to help you. Want to become a volunteer?

Suggested Donations

Our suggested donation structure is...

  • $20 - Adult/youth bikes needing repair (includes whatever used parts it needs)
  • $10 - Small children's bikes needing repair (includes whatever used parts it needs)
  • $5 - Used parts
  • $5 - Per visit for use of tools and shop supplies
  • Cost reimbursement for new parts if needed
  • For those needing transportation in a hurry, we have a limited supply of used bikes that have already been fixed up by our volunteers. Prices vary for ready-to-ride bikes. Please ask one of our volunteers about availability and pricing.

Donations do not have to take the form of money. Volunteer time at the shop, items from our wish list, etc. count just the same. No one is ever turned away due to inability to make a donation. See our Suggested Donations page for more information.

Our Mission

Cycling is a sustainable form of transportation, a good source of exercise, and a lot of fun. We want to see as many folks as we can equipped to participate, so we are making a way by repairing, redistributing, and riding. We value friendships, and set up all of our services and programs as a way to build bridges with each other and the local community.

In addition, Communicycle exists because the love of Jesus Christ compels us to love and serve our neighbors in Chamblee, Doraville, and Clarkston. Our goals are to love the people He loves, and to put His love on display through the meeting of needs and the building of caring relationships. We are deeply in love with Him who loved us first and want that love to overflow to others. Because we like riding and repairing bicycles, we are using this natural interest as a vehicle for caring for our neighbors.
